I usually have these thoughts when the dishes and the laundry are NOT done as I imagine family trying to wade through the piles of procrastination π

In one place or another, there will be some pile of procrastination. The question for each of us is what we’ll let go of and what we’ll focus our energy on.

Haha! This is awesome! So there with you sometimes… So there. Except for the folded laundry.

Like I said to other commenters, if you’re out having fun instead of folding the laundry, I fully support it!
Haha looks like I wasn’t the only one with the underwear thought while reading this. And folding laundry…pfft! What’s that? π But yeah the thought does occasionally cross my mind…

It is pretty funny how many people were thinking about underwear!
And, I hope you are wearing clean underwear too! Totally can relate to this!
Yes, thankfully I usually have on clean underwear. Usually.
Perfect! I enjoy your take on the prompt
Thanks!
^ It looks like I was a moment too late with my underwear comment ;).
π
A poignant take on the prompt.
Must go and get the dishes done – just in case!
Nah, let them sit. They aren’t worth it.
This is a great take on the prompt, and now I’m kind of regretting that last night’s dishes are still in the sink.
If you were enjoying yourself, don’t regret not doing the dishes.
This is the best. Although I wish I’d left dirty dishes in the sink and written for a bit instead…
Yes. That’s it exactly.
Enjoyed this, can’t say the same about our dishes though. : )
The dishes aren’t worth it.
It’s the little things in life, like dishes, that are important, right?
Little things, yes. Dishes, no.
I always get the urge to do something crazy when I get this feeling. Great take on the prompt.
There are definitely lots of crazy thoughts going on here.
I love how you did this without any reference to birds or songs. Go you!
I did mention a cage in the title though, so it wasn’t all good judgement on my part.
I worry about this all the time. If I dropped dead now, my obit would read, “Woman found dead in obscenely messy home.”
I’m going to clean now.
I’ll bet after it said that it would list fun stuff you were busy doing instead of cleaning, and that would be a good thing.
ha! that was a great one.
Glad you enjoyed it.
“At least the dishes are done and the laundry is folded.” That made me laugh so hard.
Glad I could make you laugh.
I have that horrible thought all the time too. And if it happens before lunchtime then i’m screwed with the dishes. lol
I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking about what people will think when I’m gone.

Absolutely relatable and well told. I’m just about to go into my kitchen and do my dishes. I’ll try not to think morbid thoughts.
I never recommend thinking morbid thoughts.
I usually just toss the t dishes in the trash. Much less time consuming! Great take.
Love this idea.
Am I alone in finding this sad? “…and this was it?” I would tell this speaker, leave the dishes and laundry! Take care of your heart!
Of course, this is what you’re saying…still, poignant!
Exactly – taking care of the heart is so much better than the chores. I just wish I’d take my own advice once in a while.
Sigh, every single day sounds right. And my laundry isn’t even folded!
I’ve had a basket of towels unfolded since Sunday. But I was too busy gargleblasting to get to it. A worthy cause, if I may say.
Sad at the suggestion that how others would judge matters. This is good.
What makes me sad is that people wouldn’t remember me for a great contribution to society. I’d rather do something wonderful than have a clean house.
Enjoyed this piece especially the last line.
Thank you!

Oh this is an awesome one. I love it. Emphasis on the dishes being done. Laundry is his job. π
Love the title! Not the laundry.
Haha! I often worry about what the paramedics would think if they came to my house!
I don’t worry about that, but I worry about being embarrassed about dying from a stupid mistake.
